What You Will Achieve
This position is a shop floor Team Leader. The scope of the position includes a small number of hourly direct reports (typically <10) of several different job titles, with responsibilities for 24x7 operation of an API production Process Centric Team. The Process Centric Team could include a single operations building or several buildings. Key accountabilities include responsibility for key operations related initiatives including evaluation of production variances, data analysis, driving actions as a result of key performance metrics, investigation of safety and quality deviations, driving a continuous improvement mindset, driving an incident and injury free culture, coaching shop floor colleagues and junior level supervisors.
How You Will Achieve it
  • The Manager, Process Centric Team Leader - API Operations position is responsible for leadership of an API production area/building/team, reporting into the business area Senior Manager/Group Leader.
  • Responsible for effective leadership of work team which includes: managing the daily operation ensuring that applicable safety guidelines and policies are followed.
  • Observing that cGMP's are followed, production SOP's are upheld, and production schedules are met.
  • Work with the team to define metrics and strategy to achieve results.
  • Responsible for leading the implementation of lean management principles on the shop floor.
  • The PCT Lead will act as coach and mentor to transform team into a cohesive, harmonized team.
  • Responsible for counseling colleagues to assure proper development for their success, supporting all colleagues to enable them to reach their full potential, and to provide corrective action when necessary.
  • The PCT Lead is also responsible to ensure timely performance feedback and appraisals for all team members directly reporting to them.
  • The PCT Lead has responsibility to deliver results from a work team that spans three shifts.
  • The position will be based on first shift but will be expected to spend sufficient time with the other shifts, and with shop floor colleagues, supervisors and coordinators on the other shifts, to successfully carry out the job requirements.
  • The PCT Lead may be asked to cover a production supervisor's duties during an extended leave.
  • Successful candidate must demonstrate personal leadership initiative, judgment and accountability in day-to-day work activities in addition to strong planning/organizational skills.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and demonstrate integrity and cooperation in working with diverse colleagues/groups. Strong technical skills desired.

Qualifications
Must-Have
  • Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience.
  • OR an Associate's degree with 8 years of experience.
  • OR a Bachelor's with at least 5 years of experience.
  • OR Master's Degree with more than 3 years of experience.
  • OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to and lead project teams with a strong track record of integrity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidate must possess flexibility to respond to constantly changing conditions and priorities.
Nice-to-Have
  • Data analysis skills and ability to use various systems to identify production losses and key opportunities for improvement. Aptitude to utilize data to make decisions.
  • A strong personal motivation and aptitude for coaching, leading and managing individuals and teams.
  • An aptitude for understanding process technology and equipment, proven leadership ability, decision making ability, and excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Job will include standing, walking, and sitting.
  • Occasional lifting may be required.
  • Job will also entail occasional weekend, shutdown and holiday coverage.

Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements
  • This position will mainly cover M-F, 1st shift, however there will be a need to be flexible in covering 24/7 operations as needed to drive initiatives.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,900.00 to $166,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
