Position: Manager of Projects
Location: SW Houston Engineering Center
Position Responsibilities:
The Manager of Projects shall be responsible for the successful execution of Projects and performance of the project management/engineering personnel assigned to our Houston Engineering Center. Duties shall include oversight of proposal development and project performance, regular project status/performance review, administration of project personnel (including the identification of new employees), the development and application of work processes designed to ensure the quality of deliverables, the professional development of personnel, and the administration of the salary structure.

Shows leadership, able to develop employees, motivate teams, and manage people.
Capable of managing a portfolio of Projects across multiple locations that include small, medium, and large projects ($1MM TIC to $200+MM TIC)
Possesses knowledge of engineering execution and must be an experienced project manager.
Ability to act as proposal manager and understands commercial terms and cost strategies.
Able to motivate, inspire and direct large, diverse task forces at multiple locations.
Possesses outstanding communication skills, and can work with both details and the big picture.
Has outstanding organizational and planning skills; actively mentors and develops people at all levels.
Has and can develop well-established relationships with client personnel.
Translate client expectations into clear direction that a project team can understand and act upon.
Excellent knowledge of supply chain management processes across all phases of the project life cycle.
Ability to manage functions and activities of project controls in terms of analyzing documents and work processes, and present cost estimates.
Ability to negotiate contract terms and think strategically in terms of positioning CDI to maximize profit.
Can design and negotiate incentives, as well as prepare/administer business plans and mitigate risk.
Qualifications
Education/Degree Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a comparable curriculum from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred OR related work experience in the Energy & Chemicals Industry.
Master’s Degree in engineering management or business administration preferred.
10 years’ experience in the petrochemical/refining industry in an engineering and/or project management role preferred.
8 years’ experience as a Project Manager preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing direct reports.
Professional Engineering License or Project or Program Management Professional credential preferred.
Experience based on knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify with the approval of the hiring manager.
5 years’ experience in an engineering/consulting firm preferred.
