Job description

Started in 2016, FreedomCare is a Healthcare company that is innovating and revolutionizing the way home care is delivered. We bring dignity and support to patients needing care in their homes and to the caregivers who care for them. We're the largest consumer-directed home care agency in NY State, and are continually expanding our areas of focus including operations in other states and tech-based innovations.

We pride ourselves on our values which drive the level of care that we deliver to our patients:

  • Here For You (An attitude of service, empathy, and availability)
  • Own It (Drive and ownership)
  • Do the Right Thing (High integrity)
  • Be Positive (Great attitude and a can-do positive approach to challenges)

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Manager of People Operations to join our team and help us foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment.

This is a remote role with potential travel into the FreedomCare hub/office closest to you, although candidates located within the tri-state area are preferred for any meetings or events at our main New York office.

Department & Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and forward-thinking Manager of People Operations to join our team. In this role, you will lead and manage all aspects of our People Operations. Your role will be pivotal in providing support to the organization's People functions, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and nurturing a positive workplace atmosphere while fostering robust relationships between employees and the organization.

You will collaborate closely with department managers to ensure that our workforce is aligned with our company's mission and vision. The Manager of People Operations will assist the Director of People Operations & Total Rewards with growing our platforms, analytics, people processes and systems.

Every Day You Will:

  • Manage the day-to-day HR operational processes, including but not limited to coordinating the full employee lifecycle including identifying opportunities for refining People Operations and processes
  • Work with key stakeholders and colleagues, applying technical and functional HR knowledge to support the development and implementation of employee programs that leverage our core HR technology
  • Enhance and revolutionize process improvements to establish a scalable, enterprise-grade bridge between tools and processes, streamlining our employees' journey
  • Recommend new approaches, programs, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of services performed and focus on a best-in-class employee experience
  • Understand organizational needs and develop infrastructure, processes/policies and workflows that are efficient and scalable
  • Create and update SharePoint pages with People Operations initiatives and updates.
  • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures, ensure compliance with Federal and State labor laws and industry standards and be able to communicate them in a manner fit to our company.
  • Support HR tech stack; optimize systems and tools and help them all talk to each other to maximize efficiency
  • Develop and drive metrics and analytics to ensure data integrity and enable robust business insights
  • Provide support to employees with People Operations-related questions
  • Proactively review and build recommendations from our data relating to turnover, hiring metrics, engagement surveys, diversity and inclusion, etc.
  • Own oversight and project plan for major People & Culture initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify key people initiatives and innovative solutions related to the employee experience
  • Ensure the Employee handbook is kept up to date and employees are aware of the updates
  • In partnership with the HRIS Analyst, ensure all audits and reconciliations are performed on a required basis to ensure our data is kept up to date and accurate
  • Own People Operations Vendor relationships

Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in managing People Operations department in a high growth environment
  • Solid knowledge in State and Federal regulations is a must
  • Solid compliance background with the ability to communicate (both written and verbal) changes in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Excellent judgment, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Strategic thinker by nature with a passion to be tactical
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment. This means balancing the long-term drive to strengthen our processes and infrastructure with short-term needs to be adaptable and navigate ambiguity
  • SharePoint experience with building HR related pages is strongly preferred but not required
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels and demonstrate strong communication skills that align with our values. The "how we get stuff done" is just as important as the work itself
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to bring complex and cross-functional projects to completion (i.e., system implementations, performance management, compensation cycles, etc.)
  • Ability to work at all levels — strategic, operational, tactical
  • Maintain employee data in all systems used, ensuring regular updates supported by relevant documentation, support employee data reporting, audit, and data integrity initiatives
