Role:
Our Manager of Payment Operations will be responsible for improving and implementing the Credit Unions' money movement operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality payment services to our members.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
As a leader, our Manager of Payment Operations will collaborate cross-functionally to leverage different insights, approaches, and problem-solving skills to achieve the goals and objectives of the Credit Union and will possess a continuously improving degree of emotional intelligence to coach, develop, and inspire direct reports to meet their fullest job responsibilities of offering a stellar internal and external member experience.
What you will be doing:
- Responsible for coaching and developing staff to provide exceptional service, monitoring workflow, and managing the Payment Operations department.
- Drive improvements to policies, procedures, and processes; re-engineer (as needed) to maximize effectiveness and efficiency. Become the subject matter expert in all applicable systems, determining best practices, and helping to develop Payment Operations that align with the Credit Union's strategic objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage payment-related risks, such as fraud and compliance issues.
- Understand the financial services and payments industry and competitive landscape including clients' needs, product functionality, and market trends.
- Work cross-functionally and in collaboration with the various credit union departments to improve operational efficiency and support innovative solutions.
- Participate in the continual innovation of products, programs, and services. Work with the leadership team to assure alignment, consistency, and prioritization of business priorities and resource requirements.
- Manage the credit card servicing process, including the issuance and maintenance of credit cards, processing of Payments and disputes, and monitoring for fraud and compliance with regulations.
- Oversee the processing of share drafts.
- Help lead the Credit Union's ongoing money movement efforts to include establishing and maintaining internal controls.
- Support various Payment Operations related projects.
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.
What you'll bring along:
- (1) A Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Business Administration or related field from four-year college or university or (2) Five years or more of experience in lieu of formal education.
- 3 years of increasing responsibility in supervision of Payment Operations in a financial services environment.
- NACHA and FedLine Advantage experience.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality payment solutions.
- Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
- Experience working with Symitar, preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with applicable credit union and banking regulations.
- Must be available to work overtime and Saturdays, as needed.
- Must be bondable.
