WORKING HOURS:
This is a salaried position. The incumbent is expected to work normal business hours but must be flexible and available to occasionally work early mornings, evenings or weekends to meet the needs for a 24 hour establishment.
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Security and Administrative Services performs a variety of supervisory functions for the Compliance Department. Ensures compliance with all Federal, State and Tribal Gaming regulations and ordinances; also facilities compliance with Casino internal controls and policies and procedures. Oversees Record Retention and Destruction Program, as well as, MICs and overall compliance. This position will manage all required casino personnel compliance related training.
This position also provides River Rock Casino (RRC) wide direction, consultation and expertise in the specialized area of recognition, including: Tribal, Casino and NIGC, DCGC compliance programs / requirements. In addition, conducts incident investigations, recommends corrective measures, analysis's, establishes, revises, communicates, directs implementation and monitoring of RRC Compliance P&P's, applicable regulatory programs. Provides other field support to the Director of Security and Administrative Services as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists the Director of Security and Administrative Services in the maintenance of internal controls, Casino and departmental policies and procedures manuals.
- Assists the Director of Security and Administrative Services in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to the compliance of River Rock Casino with all gaming regulations.
- Oversees quarterly key inventory audit and quarterly meter readings.
- Oversees a file tracking system for all reports and corrective action documentation.
- Coordinates with all Casino personnel regarding compliance and corrective action for non-compliance of Federal, State and Tribal Gaming regulations and Casino internal controls and policies and procedures.
- Oversees all reports and corrective action documentation for any violations as well as establishing those filing systems necessary for the operation for the successful operation of the department.
- Oversees logs and monitors all departmental proposals.
- Reviews safety issues within all departments.
- Conducts Life/Fire Safety inspections with Fire Marshal as required; tracks corrective actions to closure.
- Facilitates F&B Health Certification review with Tribal Health Inspector yearly; tracks corrective actions to closure.
- Oversees Safety Hotline daily: logs, responds and brings to closure all contacts.
- Acts as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to River Rock Casino and encourages others to do the same.
- Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures.
- Attends all required meetings and training.
- Maintains confidentiality at all times.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- Three (3) years' experience in gaming regulatory required or equivalent experience in a compliance/auditing function.
- Minimum of three (3) years risk management and/or insurance experience required.
- Intermediate skills in MS-Windows XP, MS-Outlook and MS-Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
- General knowledge of Federal, State and Tribal gaming laws, rules, regulations, and policies regarding gaming operations required.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with respect to all matters pertaining to the gaming enterprise business.
- Good oral and written communication skills required.
- Must be able to perform multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Also, must be able to work independently with minimal supervision when necessary.
EDUCATION:
- AA / AS required.
- BS College Degree preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are important to the successful conduct of this position.
- Ability to write accurate, grammatically correct, polished reports and business correspondence.
- Must be able to speak with the public in a professional manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to analyze trends and anticipate safety issues that affect the work environment.
- Ability to proactively streamline processes when deemed necessary.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must be able to obtain certification in the Risk Management Fields within two years.
- Must possess a valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to obtain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty five (25) pounds.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
- Must present a well-groomed appearance.
