Job description

Do you ever wonder what happens inside the cloud?

DigitalOcean (NYSE: DOCN) simplifies cloud computing so builders can spend more time creating software that changes the world. With our mission-critical infrastructure and fully managed offerings, DigitalOcean enables startups and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to rapidly deploy and scale modern applications. As a remote-first organization, our employees, like our customers, are based around the world.

We want people who are passionate about building a world class global infrastructure

We are seeking a meticulous Materials Management expert to join our Global Logistics and Asset Management team as a Manager, Materials Management. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Logistics & Asset Management, the position can be based either remotely or in one of our offices. You will develop Materials Management controls that support data center deployments globally.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborate with internal partners in capacity management, data center operations, procurement and other teams to secure all materials for all of our data-center builds and augments
  • Work alongside cross functional teams to develop a Sales & Operations Process (S&OP) to secure a supply plan against a rolling global demand
  • Collaborate with Capacity Planning, Logistics and Program Management (PM) to ensure the continuity of supply to meet on-time execution of the multiple phase builds and augments
  • Identify and communicate in advance where potential material shortages may jeopardize program timelines/milestones to relevant stakeholders
  • Work with procurement and external suppliers to establish the appropriate delivery schedules for ancillary components, specifying quantity and frequency targeting on-time delivery, and coordinate with Logistics as needed
  • Work with Infrastructure leadership to assess and implement an advanced planning system where scenarios and true demand forecast may be captured and a supply plan created
  • Develop & conduct cycle count inventory processes with warehouse partners to ensure accuracy and timely execution and ancillary inventory availability
  • Support Infrastructure Management in working with Finance on COGS budget and subsequent tracking budget vs forecast and actuals

What You'll Add to DigitalOcean:

  • Readiness to deal with the changing landscape/scope of work as issues arise
  • Absolute meticulous attention to detail and a deep desire to keep accurate records
  • 4+ years of minimum experience in Materials Management and forecasting
  • 2+ years of minimum experience in S&OP preferred
  • Experience in leading small teams
  • Expert in Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Exercise judgment to balance introducing process and becoming a bottleneck
  • Resourceful and adaptable in a rapidly growing environment
  • Exposure to—or interest in—cloud services, data center, networking and various types of server technology would be a plus

Why You'll Like Working for DigitalOcean:

  • We reward our employees. The base salary range for this position is between $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 based on relevant years of experience and skills. The salary range for this role is specific to candidates located within the U.S. and will vary for candidates outside the U.S.. Employees may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees including grants of equity upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
  • We value development. You will work with some of the smartest and most interesting people in the industry. We are a high-performance organization that is always challenging our teams and employees to continuously grow. We maintain a growth mindset in everything we do and invest deeply in employee development through formalized mentorship and other internal programs. We provide all employees with reimbursement for relevant conferences, training, and education.
  • We care about your well-being. In addition to cash and equity compensation, we also offer employees a competitive array of benefits. In the United States, these include health insurance, unlimited vacation, retirement benefits, a generous parental leave program, and additional resources to support employees' overall well-being. While the philosophy around our benefits is the same worldwide, specific benefits may vary in other countries due to local regulations and preferences.
  • We value diversity and inclusivity. We are an equal opportunity employer and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
