This continuing position works Monday - Friday, 5.0 hours per day, 210 days per year.

Essential Job Functions including but not limited to:
•Inventory and refurbish all district science kits once a year and as needed during the school year.
•Prepare and organize materials for specific lessons.
•Work with teachers and/or para educators to complete order needs for building science kits.
•Help teachers coordinate science field trips.
•Purchase materials, locally and on-line.
•Manage the science budget for supplies, instructional materials and field trips.
•Advise teachers on science content, science standards, kit use, and troubleshoot problems.
•Participate in trainings related to the science curriculum.
•Support middle school science teachers by purchasing and supplying refurbishment materials for the
science kits and oversee the budget for these materials.
•Support K-12 district adopted curriculum needs, requests, purchasing and distribution.
•Department contact for curriculum requests and distribution from buildings.
•Support K-12 district adopted curriculum online access.
•Complete basic office tasks such as copying, sorting, filing, and data entry.
•Ability to plan and organize own work.
•Ability to perform standardized and routine tasks with minimal supervision.
•Ability to complete work independently.
•Complete assignments with routine deadlines.
•Attend meetings and training sessions as assigned.
•Assist other office personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work.
•Interact with the public and co-workers in a consistently successful manner.
•Follow established routines with limited decision making.
•Surplus items according to procedures.
•As directed, serves as receptionist to the Knox Administrative Center. Warmly welcomes visitors to
the office; assures visitors complete sign-in process before entering departments; answers questions as
necessary; announces visitors to district staff and directs to appropriate office as necessary; answers
incoming calls on the district's central phone line; provides general information and routes callers to
appropriate extensions as necessary; responds to common inquiries or complaints from students,
parents, staff or members of the community; accepts miscellaneous payments and processes the
electronic receipt; answers emergency radio and phone when Superintendent's office does not reply.
•Other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Prior entry level job related experiences - 2 years related experience preferred.
  • Ability to use English in both written and verbal form, using correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Basic office technology skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Significant physical abilities include reaching, bending, speaking, listening, reading.
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • License, certification, bonding, and/or testing required: Criminal justice fingerprint clearance may be required based on location of assignment.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.

  • Demonstrates basic communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Punctuality, professionalism and regular attendance necessary.

Salary Rate Range OTPAA Level 1: $25.01 - $31.78 per hour
