POSITION: Manager, Marketing & Event Activation (Seasonal)
Reporting to: Sr Director, Marketing and VP, Business & Event Operations
About the UFL
The United Football League (UFL) is set to launch as the premier spring football platform, formed by the merging of the XFL and USFL in 2024. The inaugural season of the UFL will feature eight teams: Arlington (TX), Birmingham (AL), Detroit (MI), Houston (TX), Memphis (TN), San Antonio (TX), St. Louis (MO), and Washington D.C.
About the Position
The UFL is seeking a Seasonal (February - June) Marketing & Event Activation Manager to support gameday and local market activation in Houston (TX).
The Marketing Activation Manager will manage and coordinate fan engagement activations, gameday event planning and logistics, local marketing events and department administrative needs. The individual will facilitate logistics of fan engagement activations, sponsor activations, manage event operations inventory and be responsible for post-event recaps. This position will report to the Director of Marketing at the League and the VP, Business & Event Operations for the Houston Roughnecks.
What You Will Do
Work directly with the VP, Business & Event Operations in all game day and non-game day events to ensure all logistics/run of shows are executed efficiently and properly.
Be the liaison between various UFL team departments (i.e. PR, ticket sales, sponsorships, marketing) to assist in fulfilling all game day needs.
Assist Corporate Partnerships team to help coordinate sponsorship activations both inside and outside game day venues
Manage and coordinate fan experiences/engagement elements and related vendors/providers for pre-game, in-game, halftime, post-game, fan meet ups, viewing parties and fan tailgate activation, etc.
Manage game day staff, talent and other individuals working games and/or events.
Help provide weekly information for the production timeline/run of show to ensure accuracy on game day scripts.
Manage inventory, team game day storage, deliveries, breakdowns, and large-scale body movements for safety purposes.
Manage master event calendar, coordinating with all departments as needed.
Research and obtain quotes and coordinate with vendors.
Lead on payroll and approval related to game day staff and talent.
Track new event requests, create gameday operations guide/timeline, identify staffing needs, and develop production timeline for all events and rehearsals.
Research new and industry trends for fan engagement activation.
Review all graphics on set day for testing and ensure spelling, graphics are placed correctly
Assist Director of Comms and VP with community engagement and outreach programs.
Support the execution of marketing and branding activities including, but not limited to brand management, email marketing, digital marketing, event marketing, content marketing, copywriting and campaign execution.
Support marketing strategies and deliverables on behalf of the Houston Roughnecks.
Implement UFL brand guidelines, establish consistency and elevate brand marketing to
a higher level.
Manage all Houston Roughnecks premium item inventory and operational documents.

What You Will Bring
Five (5) plus years of relevant event operations experience with an emphasis on logistics and management.
Event/in-game production experience.
Experience working in sports operations/production.
Ability to work well with multiple stakeholders across the company, vendors, and sponsors.
Capable of meeting tight deadlines and balancing multiple tasks.
Can handle high stressful situations with a calm approach.
Problem solver with little guidance.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong customer service skills and extremely detail oriented.
Proficiency in Google Doc and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Bachelor’s degree required.

Additional Details
Work location: The location of this role must be in the market the team is located.
Primarily works in a remote office and/or an office environment. Must attend all team home games and may be required to attend select games and events in other UFL team markets.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel.
Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required.
Must be able to lift 25+ pounds at times.
