NAOU transportation is a $1B annual spend with over 600,000 shipments. The CO Strategic Transportation Team is responsible for ensuring we have the capacity needed through transportation providers to support the business at an optimum cost that also meets service requirements to support our customers and facilities.
The Manager, Logistics Procurement is responsible for managing long-term and short-term transportation needs and ensuring adherence to budget. Responsibilities include carrier management, procuring capacity, analytical support, and forecast and award management.

What You’ll Do for Us
Procures rates and capacity to support NAOU to meet long-term and short-term transportation needs through collaboration with Global Logistics Services and NAOU Transportation Operations teams.
Responsible for annual bid support to identify lanes, volume, special customer requirements, lane characteristics, and plant information to ensure accuracy in bidding process.
Award decision making to meet financial and service requirements.
Daily tactical relationship management with carriers, establishing meeting routines, and providing support as needed to enable their success.
Lead quarterly operational reviews with top strategic carriers.
Responsible for ad hoc analysis to identify areas of opportunity to drive financial and performance improvements and act upon them.
Utilize forecasting tools and other reporting to determine volume needs and communicate with primary carriers on lanes.
Market Benchmarking in support of sales, finance, supply planning, NPSG and other teams for sourcing and business initiatives.
Qualification & Requirements:
3+ years over-the-road truckload transportation experience preferred
College degree required (Supply Chain or Logistics preferred)
Functional Skills:
Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables and vlookups
Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook
Strong ability to utilize Power BI reporting filtering, exporting, reviewing and root cause analysis.
Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) or other Transportation Management System knowledge and use
Communication: Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of internal and external organizations. Strong written and verbal communication skills – including having difficult conversations
Strong organization skills: must be able to prioritize short-term, mid-term, and long-term priorities to meet deadlines
