Job description

Basic Function
HF Sinclair in Sinclair Wyoming is seeking a HR Manager to oversee and direct one or more aspects of the Human Resources Department within assigned location.
Job Duties
  • Manages human resource operations and establishes objectives to grow our culture, develop our people and improve efficiency as well as cost effectiveness for the assigned client group
  • Utilizes knowledge of the business landscape to proactively develop staffing, succession and workforce plans
  • Provides guidance, facilitation, and administration for the assigned client group(s) on wage and salary administration, talent identification, development and acquisition, performance management, policy or other document interpretation, dispute resolution, HR programs and benefits, and application of appropriate regulatory requirements while ensuring compliance with policies and practices
  • Leads HR investigations and/or provides guidance in the area of employee complaints/issues and assists legal
  • Recommends policies and solutions to management and client group(s)
  • Participates in the development of processes and programs with the Centers of Excellence (COE) ensuring successful integration within the assigned client group(s)
  • Constructively works towards the best possible process within Human Resources to meet the client's needs while recognizing the demands of the business as a whole.
  • Creatively grows and promotes the organization's culture and vision
  • Coach managers on complex employee relations issues
  • Provides leadership & support to client Leadership Teams in the areas of HR strategy, talent development and performance management
  • Provides appropriate communications to support the needs of the assigned client group(s)
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulatory and reporting agencies and legal compliance with all applicable governmental laws and regulations covering the following areas, but not limited to, wage and hour, EEOC, OFCCP, HIPPA, ADAA, FMLA, etc.
  • Reviews and approves personnel changes in accordance with Company procedures and practices
  • Maintains Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) logs and/or other government required paperwork, and produces annual government reports, if applicable and as required
  • Oversees the maintenance of employee files and other record keeping, understands and ensures state and federal laws pertaining to Human Resources, including collecting, sharing, and storing Protected Health Information (PHI) paperwork are followed at all times
  • Responsible for facilities management and staff in partnership with Legal and Corporate Health and Safety

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion
Experience
A minimum of eight years related experience and with five years of Human Resources experience is required.
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, in a business or Human Resources related field, is required.
Required Skills
Ability to lead and direct the work of others providing clear direction and accountability of staff. Working knowledge of various functions in HR such as organizational planning, employee relations, compensation, talent management and talent acquisition, benefits, policies, etc. Proficient with MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. (Including formulas to more efficiently analyze data), ability to perform intermediate level mathematical calculations is required. Knowledge of laws, pronouncements and regulations pertaining to human resource operations. Strong planning and organizational skills, ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication skills, analytical with the ability to read and appropriately interpret information from multiple sources. Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and maturity to work with all levels of employees and management. Ability to implement and develop supervisor/management and leadership skills and programs. Presentation skills with the ability to speak in front of a large group. Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information including Protected Health Information (PHI) and all applicable compliance issues in relation to relevant HIPAA regulations.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Responsible for the direct supervision of up to 10 employees, both professional and administrative.
Work Conditions
Office based with travel up to 25% by land or air required. Subject to varying road and weather conditions. Depending on location, work environment may include weekly visits into a Refinery/Industrial Environment, Warehouse, or other field locations.
Physical Requirements
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting or carrying and pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs, climbing up to 3 ft. Job conditions may require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) when in the refinery or other work site (beards not permitted).
