Manager, Human Resources
Independence Excavating is looking for a Manager, Human Resources to join our Independence OH team. In this role, the manager will partner with HR and business leaders to execute HR strategies and initiatives in designated businesses, serve as a consultant on HR policies and procedures as well as act as an employee champion and change agent. The manager will formulate partnerships and collaborate across the HR function to deliver value added services that help drive decision making and results within the businesses.

A typical day looks like:
- Assuming ownership of the short-term and delivery of the long-term Human Resources (HR) strategies and initiatives
- Establishing partnerships with businesses by serving as a consultative partner with leaders, an employee advocate, and an active/contributing member on project teams
- Serving as a primary organization liaison for all HR functions by consulting with employees and leadership on HR matters. Partnering with the HR Director on complex issue resolution
- Collaborating with the HR Director to provide meaningful analytics to drive informed decision making in support of all business and support functions
- Providing strategic and tactical HR support to include:
- Supporting the talent acquisition process
- Performance management coaching
- Organization design and talent development
- Supporting compensation changes
- Supporting company culture and employee retention efforts
- Resolving complaints and grievances
- Developing, managing and facilitating HR policies and programs
- Counseling and/or training leaders and employees
- Managing the introduction and administration of HR programs
- Facilitating process improvement and change processes
- Ensuring compliance with HR laws and regulations
- Supporting the implementation and maintenance of an HRIS system for the company
- Providing coaching and support to other HR staff members
- Other duties as needed/required
Do you have what it takes?
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field is required. An advanced degree is a plus
- Minimum of 8 years of experience encompassing all areas of Human Resources including: HR consulting and analytics, talent acquisition, organizational development, compensation, performance management and employee relations is required
- HRIS experience, leading HRIS administration is preferred
- Experience managing, coaching, and leading others
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience with change management and process improvement is preferred
