Job Summary:

The Processing, Guidance and Controls (PG&C) Center within the Systems Engineering Directorate consists of Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), Signal Processing (SP) and Modeling and Simulation disciplines for Effectors.  In the GNC department, we design, integrate, and optimize guidance, navigation, state estimation, and control algorithms to meet mission objectives. We support new business initiatives and help develop & execute technology roadmaps
We are seeking a Manager, Systems Engineering to perform in the role of GNC Section Lead in our Tucson, AZ location.  This position is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• The GNC Section Lead will have a technical role on at least one program in addition to performing the day-to-day leadership of a group of GNC engineers, with the primary responsibility of ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement.
• You will perform leadership duties including performance development and appraisal, salary planning, resource planning, career coaching, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
• You will contribute to the technical oversight of employees, monitor program execution, and provide subject matter expertise in direct support of program efforts and proposal activities.
• You will help model our RTX values and nurture a collaborative work environment
• The Section Lead is expected to spend at least 4 hours a week interacting with their section and performing in this capacity

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of eight (8) years of prior Guidance, Navigation and/or Controls engineering experience
• Experience in GNC domain, with at least three (3) years in missile systems applications
• Experience with control system integration and testing, including at least two of the following: 6DOF simulation, flight software integration, modal testing, and/or closed loop frequency response testing
• Experience with MATLAB or Simulink and C++
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
