Overview
The Accounting Manager will manage defined functional accounting areas and activities ensuring compliance of GAAP principles and corporate polices. These areas include but are not limited to fixed assets, lease accounting, General Accounting, and controls of monthly closing process. The position will oversee the work of approximately 3-4 accounting staff members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Management of fixed asset and lease accounting; review of documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations, preparation of supporting schedules, and confirmation that appropriate journal entries are consistent with US GAAP, reconciling monthly.
Management of lease accounting transactions and control completion and documentation.
Management of the related party relationship between Pep Boys and AEP PLC LLC until project completed and AEP PLC LLC is dissolved.
Perform and review complex accounting, analysis, and other related duties for the organization.
Prepare schedules provided to external and internal auditors; collaborating with audit team to ensure successful results and compliance.
Key part of ongoing development and improvement of accounting policies and procedures; providing insight, leadership, and direction for accounting team.
Key member of accounting team - collaborating with team members to review current processes, of a continuous improvement mindset.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
S. or above in accounting.
Strong ASC 842 lease accounting experience.
CPA, Masters, MBA - preferred.
3+ years' experience in accounting management preferred.
Experience with technical accounting.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills; ability to prioritize key competing projects.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong written and communication skills.
Experience with SAP preferred.
