Overview
The Manager, FP&A Forecasting Lead is responsible for managing the complete forecasting process on behalf of the GBM U.S. business, which encompasses all P&L & Balance Sheet components, across all material sub-business lines and legal entities in the U.S. As this Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of accurate and timely forecast information to key U.S. & Global stakeholders and developing a robust operating model to ensure forecasts are updated in a timely and controlled fashion. This role will require strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills to facilitate the complete integration of forecast information across numerous business lines and support functions. You will also ensure that specified goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives and all activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
What You’ll Do
Develop a robust, scalable process to source all relevant forecast information for the purposes of providing a complete, consolidated financial forecast to key U.S. and Global stakeholders.
Identify incremental data requirements based on CDE and data linage reviews, to ensure forecast information provided is complete and accurate.
Develop capabilities to enable aggregation and elimination of financial data between IFRS and US GAAP reporting as necessary.
Review and analyze financial data provided as part of the process, to identify issues, opportunities, and trends to enrich the consolidated forecast narrative.
Support the continued alignment of data architecture and IT infrastructure between risk and finance support functions.
Build, maintain, and enhance various management reports and analysis for senior management to enable review and challenge of forecast submissions.
Develop enhanced levels of insights and analytical capabilities to enable efficient and accurate decision-making by key stakeholders.
Incorporate an awareness of enterprise strategic initiatives and the impact on revenues, balance sheet, and structural costs.
Assist initiatives’ sponsors in the preparation of project Business Cases (including NIRAs), costs/benefits, and scenario analysis when required.
Develop strong relationships across the various business and support functions to enable the provision of timely and accurate forecast information.
Contribute to a client-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge; contributes to a team environment to produce creative and value-added strategic analysis.
Develop recommendations and analysis related to the execution of strategic initiatives.
Provide analysis, support and counsel to business line management related to management reporting.
Assist with the design, enhancements, and development of management reporting and metrics, and maintaining operating procedures; Influence and contribute to the continuous improvement of the planning process.
Work collaboratively with other stakeholders in GBM to access management information systems required to perform the duties of the position.
Support ad hoc requests from Executive Management, auditors, regulators, ratings agencies, research analysts and other external parties as required.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelors degree required. CPA/MBA preferred.
5-8 years of verifiable progressive experience of financial planning and analysis, ideally within the Financial Services sector
Knowledge of inter-relationships between business lines and legal entities, particularly in large scale, complex organizations
Experience with forecasting of revenues, expenses, balance sheet, resources across business lines and legal entities. Business Case preparation and cost benefit analysis experience a plus
Skilled in the preparation and presentation of detailed analysis, variance, commentary and management information
Knowledge of the Commercial Banking and Capital Markets products, and the relationships to central utility functions, such as Treasury
Knowledge of Hyperion planning tools, Essbase and Power BI – and familiarity with the toolset typical of a Finance / accounting department
Ability to develop strong relationships and to gain the confidence of stakeholders
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface between Finance and other support communities and document requirements and solutions for process improvement
Proven ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
