Responsibilities
• Manages, leads and directs a team of financial analyst support staff
• Serves as a financial expert for operational leaders and Results Management Office initiatives including managing balanced scorecard meetings, month end recon activity, productivity/benchmarking opportunities, and ad-hoc financial reporting as required by leaders.
• Initiates, directs and assists management with Financial Planning and budget reviews, recommending changes to various functions to improve financial outcomes
• Collaborates to acquire and analyze data to develop data driven recommendations for best practices and resource utilization
• Works closely with the data analyst teams to coordinate data and reporting needs
• Supports the development and optimization of the financial reporting capabilities of the system
• Hardwires the team's ability to analyze data sets for key insights, synthesize observations into recommendations, and visualize delivery of information to leadership through reports and presentations
• Works with the strategy team to provide financial/operational insight for service line reporting
• Performs complex financial analysis and projects to assist leadership in strategic Financial Planning and budget decisions, developing guidelines for improvement as needed
• Utilizes a high level of self-awareness and social awareness when working in teams
• Updates the upper management on findings on regular basis
• Analyzes and provides recommendations on complex issues related to all financial matters, translating complex projects into report requirements and coordinating requests amongst staff
• Keeps current on industry best practices around analytics and organizational performance
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Business Information Systems, Healthcare Administration or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a healthcare finance/accounting required
• Finance/Accounting credential preferred
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet & database applications and theory
• Experience in query writing, use of visualization tools to include PowerBI, Tableau, etc.
• Experience using Axiom financial system preferred
• Excellent communication skills including demonstrated ability to function within a matrix organizational structure environment
• Demonstrates ability to efficiently utilize appropriate presentation approaches (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, dashboard applications, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to be a productive, collaborative and valuable member of the finance team with the ability to integrate at all levels of the organization as well as with external stakeholders
• Demonstrates excellent skills in self-management and relationship building/management
• Direct experience development of company performance measurement frameworks through use of some or all of the following: benchmarks, score cards, Porters Five Forces model, GE-McKinsey Nine-box Matrix and/or BCG Growth-Share matrix
