What you'll do on a typical day:
- Lead and manage the Equipment Administration team coaching on key performance indicators ensuring employee engagement, leading situation and competency awareness, drive performance improvement where needed, recruiting, hiring/ terminating employment, and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Own and be responsible for fleet optimization, equipment sales, operational and capital expenses, cost planning, forecasts, CARB compliance, equipment movement: adjustments and relocation, EOBR, drive cam, and mobile handheld support and upkeep, fleet utilization optimization, invoicing, and claims subrogation
- Provide cross-functional leadership to all departments; provide communication on maintenance or equipment procedures and receive/ take action to feedback for continuous improvement opportunities in the fleet.
- Lead and assist in management of the relationships of major outside vendors in the Equipment Administration team- Vnomics, Velociti, Lytx, M5, Iron Planet, IBM, Alpine, Goodyear, Toyota, Fleetpride, Navistar etc.
- Own and be responsible for the success of all major projects utilizing various members from different departments and take overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project
- Execute and delegate analysis and data preparation in support of fleet maintenance and LTL operations activities including MPG, Outside repair costs, PM compliance, Workorder management, and Standard repair times
- Manage all support function activity including accuracy and timeliness of data processing, reporting, analysis, and all other fleet maintenance-specific inquiries
- Present solutions and actionable data on opportunities to senior leadership
- Process and distribute daily and weekly metrics and develop performance reports
What you need to succeed at XPO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
- 4 years of transportation operations experience including: maintenance, LTL operations, carrier management, transportation planning, project management, and logistics analysis with proven leadership experience in leading and managing a team
It'd be great if you also have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Logistics or related field or 8 years of equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience with asset management and cost analysis
- Ability to develop and implement ideas for initiatives while improving processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and the ability to work in Access)
- Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
- Demonstrated and proven understanding of equipment utilization, cost management, and operations in LTL
