Mission:
We are seeking a Manager, Hardware Engineering to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team responsible for development and support of CenTrak's portfolio of products. This role involves direct management of the engineering team, as well as the technical project management of product development, manufacturing, regulatory, quality, and field support issues. To be successful you should be an experienced engineering manager with technical project management skills, who can lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, who can provide technical direction, who can successfully deliver results for product development, who enjoys variety in day-to-day sustaining activities, who can work with product management to set priorities within the team, and who feels motivated by teamwork and solving technical challenges of CenTrak's location services products. The ideal candidate is passionate about collaboration, communication clarity, purposeful process, and execution excellence, and is an advocate for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Provides technical knowledge and expertise to hardware engineers
- Utilize project management skills to achieve timely execution of multiple, simultaneous projects through effective resource allocation, work prioritization, and efficient task management
- Utilize technical problem-solving skills to lead teams to determine root cause and appropriate corrective/preventative actions
- Collaborate effectively across departments to prioritize support issues, track, and communicate progress to goals
- Anticipate emerging risks and develop plans to efficiently manage longer term work
- Assemble and manage highly effective engineering teams through professional development, goal setting, and performance management
- Drive outcomes while maintaining engagement and where possible, team consensus by utilizing strong leadership skills
- Able to guide teams to create new and follow established processes and champion process improvements for greater efficiency or effectiveness
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulations, quality standards, internal policies, and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Master of Science is a plus
- 7+ years of experience in hardware design
- 3+ years of experience in people leadership; directly managing multi-disciplined engineers, including responsibilities such as performance management, hiring and professional development
- Hardware design experience with analog, RF, IR, LF, digital, micro-controller, low voltage circuits
- Extensive knowledge of IoT, sensor technology, embedded systems
- Extensive knowledge of Ethernet, Wifi, BLE and other networking protocols
- Experience with automating development/manufacturing testing is a plus
- Experience with Altium Designer, C, C++, Python, Matlab, Simulink is a plus
- Experience with quality management systems and electronic regulatory compliance standards
- Experience with or certification in Lean Six Sigma is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership strengths, adaptable to frequent changes in requirements and priorities
- Proven track record for cross-functional collaboration and being a team player
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
