Summary: This is a unique and important position within the Core Administration in the Division of Education. This role is responsible for providing support with considerable independence for the following: 1) the scholarly and administrative activities of the Division of Education, including programs, projects, meetings, and other initiatives. This involves regular work with leaders across the Division of Education, within the American College of Surgeons, and VIPs nationally and internationally; 2) the Regental Education Advisory Committee and its activities; 3) the four Subcommittees of the Regental Education Advisory Committee and their activities; 4) the interdisciplinary and cross-specialty programs and activities across the House of Surgery; and 5) the Pilot of the American College of Surgeons - Northwestern University Fellowship Program in Surgical Education.
This exempt position will report to the Assistant Director, Educational Administration and Educational Scholarship in the Division of Education. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.
Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university is required.- At least 4-7 years of similar professional experience providing high-level support for educational programs, products, and/or administration is required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Zoom.
Experience in logistical planning and implementation of complex meetings and conferences, including creating agendas and writing minutes, is preferred.
Non-profit or academic experience, and/or experience supporting medical professionals is a plus.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required.
Outstanding accuracy and strong attention to detail required.
