JOB SUMMARY

Nabors sits at the convergence of these exciting industry mega trends. Recognized for making some of the biggest technological leaps in oil and gas operations - including deploying the world's first fully robotic land drilling rigs - we are also pursuing new and emerging opportunities in clean energy, such as geothermal, concentrated solar power, energy storage, hydrogen, advanced materials and more. As Manager, Corporate Communications, the candidate will create and drive a strategic, omni-channel communications program that enhances and protects Nabors' reputation as an energy technology leader and employer of choice.
Under the direction of the Senior Director, Marketing, Communications & Public Relations, the candidate will manage the day-to-day external and internal communications efforts for Nabors, including media relations, content and distribution strategy and issues/crisis responses, as needed.
The candidate may also contribute to the organization's broader sustainability and community relations programs.

Qualifications
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic
  • Develop and execute communications strategies to meet business and reputational goals and elevate our narrative
  • Ensure message alignment across the organization and with key stakeholders (IR, HR, etc.)
  • Track, measure and report program KPIs on a regular cadence

Media Relations
  • Manage media inquiries and identify pro-active opportunities to engage in the current media cycle
  • Draft and distribute media statements and news releases, as well as develop briefing documents, talking points, Q&As and other preparatory communications materials
  • Prepare spokespeople for interviews and facilitate media trainings
  • Foster relationships with energy reporters
  • Lead media monitoring and reporting

Content Hub & Social Media
  • Work with the Communications Specialist to plan and publish content on Nabors' internal and external channels
  • Highlight corporate initiatives, strategies and recognitions, employee successes and contributions and more (requires partnering closely with HR, operations and/or other departments)
  • Occasionally write or edit executive memos, corporate webpages, marketing brochures and other content as needed
  • Collaborate with marketing leads to plan, manage and contribute to an enterprise-wide social media calendar

Speaking Engagement, Corporate Events & Awards
  • Maintain calendar of upcoming events and award opportunities
  • Secure speaking opportunities for leadership at prominent industry events (not trade or product related)
  • Prepare speakers
  • Write and manage award submissions
  • Plan and manage certain corporate events, including BBQs, Safety Days, Customer Days and charitable giving events

Crisis & Issues Communications Response
  • Refine procedures and response plans
  • Provide writing, media and media monitoring support
  • Coordinate and host crisis communications trainings

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Marketing, Business or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience working in Communications, either in agency or in-house corporate
• Experience in public relations, employee/internal communication, media relations, corporate affairs, external affairs & employee engagement
• Prior experience supporting senior executives and working with media
• Energy or industrials experience is a plus
• Exceptional writing, editing and proofing capabilities with fluency in AP Style
• Strong aptitude for project management, including researching, planning, organizing, directing and implementing communication projects
• Demonstrates teamwork and communications skills in working with all communications team members, keeping them informed, following-up on opportunities, sharing responsibilities across functional boundaries
• Deep understanding of traditional and new, digital communications tactics
• Proficiency with measurement tools, monitoring platforms and media databases

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
Witten Communication
Advanced writing skills, ability to write free of punctuation or grammatical errors. Clear, concise with the ability to write quickly, clearly and correctly. Targeted audience easily understands writing and is formatted correctly for the delivery method.

The application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities in order to meet or exceed stakeholder needs and expectations from the project.
