Overview
The global Manager Compensation and Benefits oversees the global compensation function and manages U.S. employee health, welfare, and retirement benefit programs at Viskase. This position requires experience in global Compensation and U.S. benefits programs across US locations, while effectively communicating and implementing initiatives to support employee well-being and company objectives. Successful candidate will have direct responsibly and oversight of global compensation programs such as incentive and merit planning and will ensure that such programs are administered in compliance with relevant country practices and applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Compensation Management:
  • Evaluates global salary budgets, develop merit pool recommendations, and manage annual merit increase reviews for participating countries.
  • Administer global short-term incentive programs, prepare incentive plan cost projections based on financial results, and provide recommendations for senior management review.
  • Conduct job evaluations and compensation benchmarking, assess job classifications under FLSA, and analyze hourly employee pay structures for competitiveness.
  • Develops guidelines/procedures/communications for Global Performance Management Process and ensures promotions and or recruitment requisitions are approved in accordance with company guidelines.

Budget Planning and Merit Increase Management:
  • Evaluates global salary budget data, economic conditions, and minimum wage changes to develop preliminary merit budget pool recommendations for Viskase's annual budget planning.
  • Assist with managing the annual global merit increase review process, create country merit matrix recommendations based on performance ratings and budget, and prepare communications for global managers.
  • Interpretation and preparation of market data/cost analysis for hourly employees pay in anticipation of rate structure review or union negotiations in US and abroad.

Benefits Program Management:
  • Administer and optimize U.S. Viskase Benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and conducting necessary audits.
  • Spearhead the annual Open Enrollment process for Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance plans, ensuring clarity and efficacy.
  • Limited oversight and tracking of non -U.S. benefit programs.

Well-being Oversight:
  • Provide corporate-wide guidance on FMLA/ADA, ensuring adherence to U.S. regulations.
  • Proactively evaluate and resolve issues pertaining to short-term disability (STD) for employees.

Plan Administration:
  • Oversee and monitor the active 401(k) retirement plan and legacy defined benefit pension plan, ensuring their regulatory compliance.
  • Guide the management of the frozen pension plan in collaboration with the plan vendor, optimizing its administration.

Compliance and Reporting:
  • Initiate and oversee ACA reporting, 5500 filings, and other essential governmental filings for regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to annual financial audits of retirement plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Communication and Program Development:
  • Develop communication campaigns, annual open enrollment materials, and wellness programs to support employee well-being and Benefits plans.
  • Analyze benefit utilization, recommend changes, and manage vendor interactions for effective benefits administration.

Compliance and Analysis:
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state laws regarding benefits and compensation, including pay transparency and data privacy requirements in various countries.
  • Conduct cost analysis, evaluate legislative impacts, and collaborate on Compensation and Benefits policy interpretation and implementation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • CEBS designation (preferred); Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years in global Compensation Management including 2-3 years in benefit administration with a focus on managing defined benefit plans. Experience in global compensation management is preferred. We are willing to train the ideal candidate with the US Benefits Management/Design experience in global compensation with at least 1 year experience in Compensation management.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (required) UKG experience a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations related to benefit plans (ERISA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ACA, etc.), FLSA, and global employment practices.
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and prioritization abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
