The Manager of Executive Compensation is responsible for managing the planning, philosophy, design, regulatory compliance, communication, policy development, evaluation and administration of executive compensation programs at CDW. This includes short-term incentive design as well as long-term equity plan programs.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assist Director Executive Compensation with developing, implementing and managing executive compensation strategy, programs and solutions that align with organizational goals/objectives.
- Prepare materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors (developing meeting agendas, analyses and materials).
- Lead the preparation of the CD&A and Executive Compensation Tables for CDW’s annual Proxy statement.
- Proactively provide recommendations to improve the executive compensation program.
- Consult with Talent Acquisition and leaders on executive level offers.
- Propose changes in methods or procedures to streamline and automate for enhanced accuracy and efficiencies within the executive compensation function.
- Provide consultative technical expertise and guidance regarding compensation matters to executives, people leaders and the HR team, ensuring internal equity, external competitiveness, and regulatory compliance
- Partner, facilitate and influence coordination among various stakeholders (i.e. HR Business Partner team, Talent Acquisition, Finance, etc.) for executive compensation processes, pay structure design, and variable compensation.
- Oversee salary survey submissions, annual merit and short-term and long-term incentive plans.
- Adapt readily to changing priorities; offering solutions to challenges or problems as they occur.
- Establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player with exceptional communication and analytical skills.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree and 5 years experience in compensation or financial analysis OR
- 9 years experience in compensation or financial analysis
- 1 year in a managerial role
Required Qualifications
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills, with high level of accuracy and attention to detail; position requires advanced mathematical skills, financial knowledge, excel skills and spreadsheet analysis.
- History of partnering with the senior executives and outside resources (e.g., executive compensation consultants).
- Experience working in a mid to large sized company working with multiple business units and geographies.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve results; previous experience should include successfully introducing and implementing processes, best practices and operational change initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders including Executive Leadership.
- Strong conflict resolution, influencing abilities and customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive working relationships cross-functionally and with external stakeholders.
- History of balancing competing priorities with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business while meeting deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- A combination of corporate compensation and/or strategic consulting experience.
- Experience with global compensation.
- Experience managing executive compensation plans in Workday.
