Job Title:Clinical Nurse Manager (Nursing Home)
Job Summary
The Clinical Nurse manager (CNM) is responsible for the delivery of exceptional clinical care and services on their assigned units, for their assigned shifts. They assure the highest standards of clinical care for the unit are met, applying evidence-based standards and health care research to achieve superior clinical outcomes. They directly observe and monitor resident care to ensure it meets or exceeds the Miami Jewish Health standards and review resident records to analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of the care provided by and documented on the unit. The CNM not only monitors overall care, but they also review, evaluate, and manage employees' overall performance.
Essential Job Functions
- Plans, implements, and evaluates resident care based on resident assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, documents, and communicates resident condition as appropriate.
- Maintains an 85% or higher score on the quarterly quality assurance monitoring report.
- Ensures the accurate completion of incident reports, follow-up actions, and grievances.
- Evaluates staff performance related to job requirements and serves as a coach or mentor when applicable.
- Manages patient/family complaints and conflicts through to resolution.
- Ensures all assessments completed by clinical staff are accurate, timely and thorough.
- Assures care provided by nursing staff meets Miami Jewish and regulatory agencies' standards, protocol, and policies.
- Ensures the accurate acquiring, receiving, dispensing, and administering of all physician orders.
- Participates in surveys made by authorized government agencies.
- Collaborates with MDS Coordinators to update the resident's care plan based on significant changes and new orders.
- Collaborates with Administration on residents' current conditions and any concerns.
- Remains knowledgeable on current industry regulations, clinical procedures, and guidelines for best practices.
- Ensures all other Miami Jewish Health policies and procedures are being followed.
- Reviews and audits employees' timecards for accuracy and to correct exceptions.
- Collaborates with Staffing Coordinators on the PTO approval process.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
Experience:
- Five years progressive experience in clinical positions
- Minimum of 2 years leadership experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current RN license by the Florida State Board of Nursing
- BLS certification required
Abilities Required
- Proficient in Medicare, Medicaid, and HMO regulations
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the financial aspects of outpatient rehabilitation
- Good problem solving and clinical judgment skills
- Demonstrate ability to take initiative, be adaptable and work well independently
- Be well organized, flexible, dependable, and punctual
- Ability to work well with staff, individuals, and participants of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
- Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel)

- No routine exposures to blood/body fluids but may occasionally require performing activities which may involve exposure to unsanitary conditions
