Manager, Belonging & Culture
This is a full-time opportunity located at our offices in North Dallas.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Manager of Belonging & Culture reports directly to the Vice President, Community, Culture, & Equity and is responsible for fostering a sense of belonging, promoting a positive organizational culture and cultivating an experience where employees, volunteers and Girl Scouts and their families feel welcomed, valued and respected. This manager collaborates with various stakeholders internally and externally, to develop and implement initiatives that enhance engagement, cultural awareness, and promote a strong sense of community. This role improves accessibility to GSNETX and its offerings, by its members and community at large throughout the workplace, programming, processes, and properties. This manager will support the continued development and implementation of the equity strategy.

- Ability to foster a sense of internal community and culture that brings employees together, celebrates diversity, and promotes cross-cultural understanding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Belonging and Inclusion Strategy: Manage existing equity strategies and implement new or improved belonging and inclusion initiatives that align with the organization's values and business objectives. Support organizational leaders on how to integrate and implement this strategy.
- Cultural Transformation: Lead efforts to drive cultural transformation by working closely with VP of Community, Culture and Equity, executives, HR teams, and other stakeholders to embed inclusive practices, foster a sense of belonging, and promote a positive work culture throughout the organization.
- Training & Integration: Design and deliver training programs that promote cultural competency, raise awareness, and enhance understanding of belonging and culture principles to staff, volunteers, and Girl Scouts.
- Policy and Process Review: As needed, collaborate with HR, finance, legal and leadership teams to review existing policies, processes, and procedures to ensure they support an inclusive and equitable work environment.
- Thought Partnership: Advise organizational leaders on sensitive issues, strategic and crisis communication, and equity related conflicts.
- Managing Affinity Groups: In collaboration with HR, support the establishment and growth of Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and provide guidance and resources. Manage the DEI Corporate Council and other relevant affinity groups/relationships as they emerge.
- Internal Community Building: In collaboration with HR, foster a sense of internal community and culture that brings employees together, celebrate diversity, and promote cross-cultural understanding.
- Partnerships and External Engagement: In partnership with membership and community- based teams, manage communication and plans to engage, recruit, and retain diverse communities and volunteers within the council region.
- Metrics and Reporting: Alongside the VP of Community, Culture and Equity, establish metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure the effectiveness and impact of belonging and culture initiatives. Contribute to regular reports including the annual equity transparency report, that are distributed to organizational leadership, the board of directors, and other stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging research related to belonging and culture, continuously improving knowledge and sharing insights with relevant stakeholders.
OTHER:
- Must be able to travel within established geographic areas and council service centers, as necessary.
- Must have reliable transportation, hold a valid drivers’ license, and meet GSNETX driving record and automobile insurance requirements.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., organizational psychology, human resources, social sciences) is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of belonging, culture, and inclusion concepts, frameworks, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across departments and influence key stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate and promote a climate of courtesy, respect and professionalism to coworkers, the volunteers served by this council, and others with whom their job puts them in contact.
- Willingness to occasionally work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

- Attendance is an essential job requirement defined as having regular, consistent, reliable, punctual, and predictable attendance including the ability to work regular hours and shifts, before and after hours, and on weekends, when required.
