Job Description

As Major Projects Team Manager, you will be responsible for directing and managing strategic pursuits throughout the bid lifecycle in collaboration with dealers and internal Caterpillar stakeholders. Shape business development opportunities and other growth strategies by delivering strong financial results through successful capture efforts.

Job Duties:

  • Development of central Major Projects Team focused on the identification, project management & execution of large deals.
  • Establish ‘rules of engagement’ clarifications between dealers, region managers, and Major Projects Team.
  • Development of standardized documentation, financial modeling, and communication practices for deal strategy documentation.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to ascertain competition levels.
  • Identify suitable opportunities, prepare business plans, and develop and execute capture plans.
  • Prepare sales proposals.
  • Spearhead the opportunities to closure.
  • Work on multiple business opportunities.
  • Establish good working relationships with sales executives and senior management.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires a college or university degree in Engineering, Marketing, or equivalent experience.

5 -10 years of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) and/or dealer experience working with mining customers.

Top Candidates will also have:

Must have broad company knowledge and a good understanding of direct sales models, including financial modeling, and/or sales management experience.

Experience with managing, developing inputs, and reviewing proposals.

Excellent project management, customer focus, executive-level communication, negotiation, influencing, and selling skills. Experience working with offerings (Equipment, Technology, Support, and Solutions) that address the needs of Mining Customers at the equipment, system, site, and enterprise levels.

Strong problem-solving, organizational, presentation, and communication skills.

Sound business acumen.

The location for this position is Tucson, AZ.

Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Domestic and International travel required up to 33%.
