Title: Maintenance Clerk

Department: Administration

Reports to: Office Manager/Director

Position Summary: Maintain the interior and exterior of the Library including janitorial duties, some handyman duties and landscaping duties as needed.

Hours: 30 hours per week Monday - Friday

DEPARTMENTAL DUTIES:

The following are the duties of the Maintenance Clerk:

Janitorial Duties:

· Clean and disinfect all the restrooms including toilets, sinks, and floors daily.

· Restock toilet paper and paper towels in restrooms as needed.

· Vacuum each level at least 2x per week.

· Clean staircases as needed.

· Clean inside windows at least 2x per month.

· Empty garbage receptacles inside and outside daily.

· Gather recycling once a week.

Handyman Duties (as needed):

· Move furniture and equipment as needed.

· Change light bulbs.

· Repair minor nicks and abrasions on walls; paint walls.

· Unclog drains, toilets, sinks.

· Hang pictures.

· Other duties as assigned and needed.

Landscaping Duties (seasonal as needed):

· In spring, summer and fall:

o Mow lawn

o Rake and remove leaves.

o Spray and remove weeds.

o Spread mulch.

o Remove garbage from outside areas.

o Trim hedges.

o Other duties as assigned and needed.

· In fall, winter and spring:

o Remove snow from sidewalks, steps and entrances around the building.

o Place ice melt on sidewalks, steps and entrances around the building.

Other duties:

· Communicate with Office Manager and/or Director as to repairs and maintenance which need an outside contractor to complete.

· Maintain inventory of operational supplies for janitorial duties and informing Office Manager when supplies need to be purchased.

· Other duties as assigned when the need arises.

Danville-Center Twp. Public Library is looking for a Maintenance person to help take care of our beautiful building.

The requirements for this position are:

· Integrity and ability to work independently.

· Previous maintenance experience or related experience desired but not necessary.

Principal Responsibilities:

Clean and supply designated areas (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, restroom cleaning, etc.) Maintain outside areas surrounding building and parking lots (mowing, shoveling snow, raking leaves.) Light handyman duties.

Wage Range: $15/hour.
