Position Summary: The Packaging Mechanic will be responsible for all packaging machine maintenance, line maintenance, repair of line machinery and equipment, and machine preventative maintenance. The supervisor will be directly responsible for the oversight of the maintenance staff.
What you'll do:

• Overall accountability for equipment and machine reliability.
• Educate & develop maintenance staff.
• Manage and implement facility's preventative maintenance programs.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
• Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment.
• Examine machine controls to install plate changeovers and start up machines for production needs when required.
• Repair mechanical components and replace parts on machines.
• Troubleshoot machines.
• Follows all safety rules and procedures including Lockout/Tagout program.
• Ability to supervise weekend preventative maintenance activities as needed.
• Work with Operations Manager and company Engineers to ensure that daily goals and PM schedules are established and met.
• Organize and keep inventory of all spare parts and tools.

About you:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Programmable logic controllers: 2 years (Required)
• Mechanical knowledge (Required)
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems, ability to troubleshoot those systems.
• Knowledge of high and low voltage AC electrical systems.
• Knowledge in DC electrical systems, ability to troubleshoot those systems
• Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
• Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties.
