Maintenance Technician - Camp Horsethief Ymca

Our YMCA Camp Horsethief Reservoir is ACA-Accredited. This means that the American Camping Association, the only national accrediting body for camps of all types, has ensured that the YMCA Camp at Horsethief Reservoir meets the accreditation standards for health, safety and risk management. ACA accreditation provides public evidence of a camp's commitment to the well-being of campers and staff.

TheMaintenance Technicianposition at our Camp Horsethief in Cascade, IDis responsible for performing handyman and general maintenance service and repairs, as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Incorporates and adheres to preventative maintenance program to ensure the facilities and all of the equipment iskept in good running condition at all times.
• Performs basic maintenance including but not limited to painting, electrical, woodworking, building repair and cleaning.
• Completes work orders as assigned and within the time allotted.
• Assembles, moves, and maintains equipment as instructed.
• Removes and notifies necessary staff immediately of any damaged or unsafe equipment that needs to be replaced.
• Prioritizes safety, using safety protection and adhering to all safety protocols, policies, and procedures at all times.
• Communicates regularly with staff regarding the progress of projects assigned.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Skill in using hand and power tools preferred.
• Skill in performing preventative maintenance preferred.
• Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
• Must have good interpersonal and communications skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.

Schedule:

This is a full-time seasonal position, Monday, April 22, 2024, through Friday, September 6, 2024. On-Site Housing can be provided in either the staff house or a trailer. This will include either bunking with other employees or shared space.
