WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Repair and maintain equipment and building operations including ready-mix plant and other miscellaneous equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate front-end loader in yard for cleanup and recycler machinery. Loads dump truck with recycled material.
• Weld and cut on equipment when necessary.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on ready-mix plant, conveyor, mixer, loader, and recycler such as oiling, greasing, and changing filters.
• Perform emergency maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary, such as welding, replacing parts, and changing bags on dust collector.
• Perform general cleanup of plant and yard such as shoveling and sweeping.
• Perform all tasks in a safe manner.
• Perform metal fabrication for plant operations.
• Complete all paperwork required by employer. Examples: (Have reports or equipment maintenance schedules, work orders, and employee time sheets.)
• Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers. Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company and ensure timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction.
• Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Three to five years related experience; and/or
• Training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Weld and cut with a torch.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in maintenance of equipment, such as air compressors, mixers, vibrators, conveyors, motors, and other miscellaneous equipment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Apply common sense to carry out instructions, deal with problems, find the source of the problem and correct the situation in a fairly short amount of time.
• Valid Department of Transportation Certified Class A Commercial Driver's License or acquire one within 45 working days from receipt of this job description.
• Welding Certificate equal to or above AWS D1.1 Minnesota Welding Standards

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Degree of physical strength necessary: This is moderately strenuous work.
• Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Must lift and carry from floor level to waist level; also push / pull objects with similar force.
• Occasional kneeling, squatting, and bending. Climbing into loader as well as excessive clutch action.
• Reaching, handling, fingering, and /or feeling:
• Reaching - extending the hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Handling - seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands "fingering not involved".
• Fingering - picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
• Feeling - perceiving attributes of objects such as size, temperature, or texture by means of receptors in skin, particularly those of finger tips.
• There is significant dust and dirt in the environment.
• There are many conditions and situations which present danger to bodily injury such as heights, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, and other hazards. This is caused by the equipment, tools, and machines.
