About The Opportunity
The Maintenance Mechanic maintains a wide variety of industrial equipment, machines, and assemblies. The person in this position also diagnoses problems and makes necessary repairs and/or adjustments to equipment and machinery within the facility.
1. Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and/or repairs of all equipment
2. Operate any machine or machine tool in the machine shop and to complete any job on these machines as required
3. Examine machinery and equipment for defects in operation and remove, repair, and replace defective parts
4. Using micrometers, make fits on and replace bearings, as well as other machine parts, to specified tolerances
5. Perform electric and acetylene welding on steel, cast iron, and bronze
6. Make minor electrical repairs when the electrician is not available
7. Order parts and maintain a consistent preventive maintenance program
8. Instruct operators on jobs assigned by the plant superintendent
9. Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective and safety equipment and devices that are required, and comply with company safety policies and procedures
10. Maintain a clean and orderly work area
11. Perform repairs/maintenance on lift trucks
12. Perform other duties necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the maintenance department
13. Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

- Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business
- Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed
- Ability to effectively work in teams
- Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles
- Good communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Ability to do basic math, such as read a ruler/tape measure, and calculate percentages
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize work
