Position Overview:
This position will require someone who is flexible to schedule changes in a fast paced work environment. The person in this position will be required to have a background in landscaping, forklift driving, janitorial and construction/repair. A strong construction background is preferred. This position requires an individual to work both independently and as a part of a team. Will perform duties equal to working in a warehouse, in janitorial services and in landscaping. There will be a considerable amount of travel between the agency sites both locally and across WA state. Work schedule may require any of the Essential Functions be completed at any of OIC of WA worksites. OIC of WA is a community action agency delivering services to the underserved populations in our communities. This position will assist with delivery of food in a kind, caring and respectful manner.
Essential Duties:
- Observe all precautions as outlined in the "Safety" policy.
- Complete agency, lessee and renter requested service orders on a timely basis.
- Complete all assigned maintenance and turn over work on completed events and activities.
- Comply with all agency, OSHA regulations and any applicable laws in your area regarding health, safety, or environment.
- Maintain MSDS sheets.
- Order or pick-up maintenance supplies with approval from Manager.
- Ensure building lights and timers are working properly.
- Install appliances as necessary.
- Consult with Manager on major repairs, replacements and/or contracts.
- Attend meetings and seminars as requested by Manager
- Install necessary appliances and equipment as needed;
- Deliver supplies to offices throughout the state;
- Performs cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.;
- Repairs and maintains work equipment;
- Performs preventative maintenance;
- Gather and remove litter and debris;
- Mows and edges lawns;
- Trimming small trees, hedges and shrubs;
- Removes unwanted, dead or damaged trees and shrubs;
- Vacuum, sweep, mop and polish floors (including different gym floors);
- Collect and dispose of trash;
- Prepare boxes for the food bank and food pantry;
- Assists with distributing the food to clients;
- Drives forklift to move pallets of food in the foodbank warehouse;
- Other job duties as assigned.

- Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
- Frequently required to talk and hear.
- Required to drive a motor vehicle over significant distances for significant periods of time and in different seasonal weather and road conditions and times of day.
- Frequently required to reach, lift, push/pull, stoop, and crawl.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or move objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequently required to lift and carry tools and materials weighing 50 pounds.
- Noise level in this work environment is usually moderate but the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required for noise, dust, and eye protection. Frequent exposure to residential environments containing lead paint, cigarette smoke, asbestos hazards, raw sewage, foul odors, animal waste and mold.
- Required to climb ladders to residential building heights, enter and crawl under building structures and attics.
- Some structures may be in highly disagreeable, dirty or deplorable conditions.
- All PPE is provided by the employer.
