Job Description
Axios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a custom fabrication shop in the Muskegon area and are looking to direct hire a Maintenance Technician. Candidates must have experience working with CNC machines (CMMS systems) to record work orders and PM schedules, as well as have experience with plumbing, electrical, hydraulics and some construction.
Maintenance Technician Benefits:
- 1st Shift (Mon-Fri) with some weekend work but not very often

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Complete periodic machine tool preventive maintenance to ensure machine availability and reliability performance.
- Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul electrical/mechanical systems like pumps, gearboxes, ball screws, slide assemblies and other drive mechanisms.
- Knowledge of all standard measuring equipment including the proper use of micrometers, calipers and dial indicators
- Ability to complete fabrication projects from drawings by using tool room equipment, such as engine lathe, milling machine, drill press and welding equipment.
- Perform installation and set-up of new equipment as necessary Operate forklift when required.
- Must be able to work with CMMS system to record work orders and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment including identification of unsafe conditions.
- May assist mechanical engineer to modify sketches or compute generated designs of machine components such as hydraulic system and drive mechanism, applying knowledge of shop mathematics, hydraulics and mechanics.
- May perform diagnosis/repair on low voltage and control circuits (less than 240 VAC).
- May disassemble and assemble electrical wires, connections, conduit, motors, controls, etc. on de-energized machinery/equipment and facility.
- Performs continuous improvement (lean) activities as may be assigned or required.
- Performs other duties and assignments as scheduled and/or required.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment performing repairs to machinery, including at least one year’s experience in plumbing, electrical repair and air conditioning.
- High School Diploma or GED minimum.
- Must possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with hands and hand tools (welding, wrenches, etc.) in mechanically oriented situation.
- Experience with CNC machine repair required.
- Good working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction and hydraulics.
- Ability to read and write and to follow detailed written instructions.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, sit, bend and move freely about the plant.
- Steel toed or composite shoes and ANSI approved safety glasses with side shields must be worn at all times.
