Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician works under the direction and supervision of the Facilities Manager. The responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician include, but are not limited to: maintaining buildings, grounds, equipment, and utilities ensuring safety, and trouble-free operation of the facility. Assists in remodeling/renovation of existing facility and working with contractors during construction programs. Is responsible for snow removal from the Heliport, sidewalks, driveways and parking lots.Position Accountabilities:
- Performs advanced troubleshooting of mechanical equipment and building systems
- Observes meters and pressure gauges; listens to sounds of operating equipment to detect malfunctioning units
- Demonstrated ability to read wiring schematics and diagnose voltage circuits
- Installs, tests, repairs and replaces hospital equipment and appliances
- Performs preventative maintenance on hospital equipment by scheduled intervals
- Inspects, maintains, and repairs cooling and heating systems
- Inspects and maintains all hospital utility systems as required by usage and regulations
- Ability to lead and complete capital improvement projects including ordering of material and meeting project plans
- Ability to troubleshoot, make repairs and install new components on electrical equipment within facilities
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and specifications
- Installs, inspects and makes repairs to piping systems and plumbing fixtures
- Assists with grounds maintenance, snow removal, helicopter landing calls, etc.
- Ability to braze and weld items as needed
- Knowledge of different types of HVAC systems in facility, the Electrical Systems and Alarm systems and makes any repairs needed to make operational.
- Acts as part of the security team during work hours
- Maintains and cleans work area as needed
- Will be required to take call after 3 months training
- And any other duties assigned

Position Qualifications:
Education – Required: High school graduate or GED certificate.
Minimum Experience: 1-3 years of experience in maintenance operations.
Preferred Experience: A technical school with a certificate in a specialized maintenance area. 3-5 years experience in maintenance operations.
Required License: Must complete and keep current CPR and CPI certifications
Supervises: May upon time-to-time help supervise maintenance helpers and maintenance trainees. Depending on seniority, may be required to supervise Maintenance Department upon the absence of the Facilities Manager.
