Description

Position Summary/Objective of job: 

Responsible for controlling inventory of all equipment, parts and tools of the Maintenance department. The Maintenance Supervisor is the main communication conduit between our vendors and the Maintenance department. Essential functions will be keeping inventory of the parts and tools necessary to produce ice cream and organizing the work orders as part of the operational matrix. 

 
Essential Functions:  

  • Manage the purchase of machinery parts, components, tools, and supplies necessary for the operation of the Maintenance department.  

  • Oversees and supervises the Maintenance Technicians 1 through 3. 

  • Assigns Maintenance Technicians Work Orders and gives direction on sequence and cadence of maintenance repairs. 

  • Assist in managing and recordkeeping as it pertains to the Manufacturing budget.   

  • Works closely with the VP of Manufacturing and Maintenance Manager on maintenance and construction projects within the production facility. 

  • Identifies, reports, and formulates action plans to rectify all unsafe conditions, equipment, and processes within the department.  

  • Assist in managing, organization, scheduling, and assignment of preventative maintenance functions of the Maintenance department.  

  • Keep an accurate and up to date log of manuals for all existing and new equipment. 

  • Actively participates in vendor selection and purchasing of the machinery parts, components, tools, and supplies necessary for the operation of the Maintenance department.   

  • Create and submit purchase orders and track delivery.  

  • Maintain records of purchases, delivery dates, vendors, costs, and other resources.  

  • Plan and execute purchases in a cost effective and timely manner.  

  • Track repairs and confirm they are completed in a cost-efficient manner. Ensure warranty coverage.  Track long term maintenance spend. 

  • Be the first point of contact for the Production team regarding questions on material availability for the Maintenance department.  

  • Be the main point of contact between our company and the service vendors.  

  • Keep an accurate and perpetual spare parts and tools inventory. 

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work orders, the associated costs of repairs, and timelines to completion. 

  • Be a vital part of the team in planning and executing projects. 

  • Report maintenance issues, trends, and overall costs to management.  

  • Assist in keeping the workspace and maintenance shop clean and orderly.  

  • Send out work order/project status reports periodically to other departments within CKOR.  

  • Organize and triage Work Orders as needed with the Maintenance Technicians.  

  • Maintain perpetual inventory of components, parts, and tools for the Maintenance department. 

  • Create and maintain supplier and item info and inventory and delivery records in the tracking system for the Maintenance department.  

  • Provides input to Production Managers, Bakery Manager and VP of Manufacturing regarding any deviation in availability of planned maintenance functions, equipment, and parts.  

  • Review and report inventory accuracy metric.  

  • Be a vital contributor to concepts of Lean Manufacturing and the project that promotes efficiency and safety.  

 

Additional Responsibilities:  

  • Assist with ongoing supplier analysis to identify cost reduction opportunities including materials and freight
  • Receiving and physically putting away items received, including restocking
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  •  1+ years experience in a purchasing role or in an inventory control role.  

  •  High school diploma/GED. 

  •  Experience negotiating contracts, pricing, services, etc. a plus. 

 

Knowledge and Critical Skills: 

  • Know how to utilize maintenance software such as FIXX to organize maintenance workflow and catalog parts.  

  • Fluency in English. 

  • Background in maintenance or manufacturing preferred.

  •  Work is in an open space office/ workshop.
