What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Scheduler with relevant industry experience to support Tesla’s Austin Cathode maintenance department. This position will be directly responsible for scheduling daily maintenance and projects in various stages, as well as tracking and reporting progress during execution.
The Maintenance Scheduler’s primary responsibility is to a schedule that assure a quality repair can be performed safely and efficiently. Job scope will include identifying the labor requirements, materials, special tools, equipment, and sequence of job steps required to safely, efficiently, and effectively accomplish a given task.
What You’ll Do
Interface with various layers of Leadership, highlighting status of PM/Work Order system and current priority of repairs
Works directly with Maintenance Planner and operations team with clear communication to execute on planned maintenance activities
Auditor of PM execution and accuracy. Creation of work orders based upon PM findings.
Responsible for ensuring PMs are on schedule and completed
Uses work order and issue management systems effectively (CMMS, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking)
Manages planned downtime activity – prioritizes labor and resourcing accordingly
Schedules work orders to the skilled trades in conjunction with weekly work schedule
Work with cross-functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime
Recommend countermeasures to prevent repeat issues
Collaborate in the development of data driven projects to increase Equipment Reliability
Duties as assigned to assist in the growth towards World Class Maintenance
Effectively facilitates planning and scheduling meetings
What You’ll Bring
Candidate must demonstrate technical proficiency in one or more of the following:
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel. PowerPoint etc.)
Ability to effectively prioritize with strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment Proven leadership ability and strong communication skills
Demonstrate ability to adapt to ever-changing schedules and direction
Basic skills and understanding in electrical, mechanical, plumbing troubleshooting and repair
Balance preventive maintenance work schedules while providing timely customer service on reactive work orders
Ability to work with minimal guidance; Proactive, motivated self-starter
Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
