Under general supervision, the Handyperson is responsible for maintenance-related tasks at Christ House, Kairos House, and Emmanuel House. This position reports to the Facilities Engineer.
Essential Functions:
- Maintains the physical upkeep of Christ House, Kairos House, and Emmanuel House facilities in coordination with the Facilities Engineer.
- Responds to maintenance requests identified by staff as indicated through the submission of maintenance request forms.
- Conducts basic investigations, diagnostics, and repairs for problems that arise in the following areas:
Electrical
- Assists with diagnosis of electrical issues and consults with Facilities Engineer.
- Changes light bulbs as needed.
Plumbing
- Investigates leaks in a timely fashion and responds accordingly.
- Replaces washers and fixtures in sinks.
- Unclogs toilets and sinks.
- Repairs toilet chains, seats, etc.
Carpentry and Painting
- Patches drywall as needed.
- Paints and touches up paint as needed.
- Assembles and installs new furniture and equipment.
- Constructs minor carpentry projects.
HVAC
- Performs routine preventive maintenance on all HVAC units, including changing filters.
Generator
- Ensures weekly exercise is completed.
- Ensures adequate fuel supply is available.
Appliances and Equipment
- Performs minor repairs and replacements.
- Initiates resolution of minor problems to prevent major ones (e.g. loose floor tiles, loose fixtures, screws, oil/lubrication, etc. )
- Assists with inventory and upkeep of maintenance equipment and supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Three years of maintenance experience required.
- Experience in plumbing, drywall, and painting highly preferred.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
