The role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity, and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, and equipment access. Maintenance Planners are critical in helping to ensure, or extend the life expectancy of equipment, and therefore aiding in the total reduction of maintenance costs and increased throughput of equipment. This individual will act as a key liaison between Production Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to ensure value added, critical sustaining work is done with a high degree of efficacy and professionalism. This role will report to the Equipment Maintenance Manager(s).
What You’ll Do

  • Train technicians, supervisors, engineers, and other personnel on how to use the internal CMMS to a high degree of efficacy
  • Own asset classification and management of adding new equipment assets as needed with new line products, and assembly equipment installations
  • Lead/Organize the job or work planning process for medium-high level priority projects; spanning various timeframes; and ability to do so on short-notice as production needs dictate
  • Coordinate, and itemize plant shutdown worklists, orders, and assignment of task owners by shift, team, and execution dates
  • Identify labor, materials, tools, and safety requirements for maintenance work orders; and work with requesting personnel to ensure proper job hazard assessments (JHAs) and pre-task planning is completed
  • Coordinate outside vendor, and/or contractor support where needed; from initial RFQ, PO-drafting, and on-site work scope planning and execution
  • Reduce cost of maintenance operations; while improving responsiveness, minimizing downtime and interruptions to overall operations, applying technical and maintenance experience to analyze overall job scopes; and fill gaps in maintenance operations
  • Support spare parts management; and assist with procuring, searching, itemizing, and controlling critical spare parts lists, inventorying, and engaging with internal Spares and Engineering teams to ensure maintenance teams have up-to-date spares inventories; and track consumption trends for areas of concern – helping to drive cost and uptime metrics
  • Kit materials for jobs requiring parts from spares as needed; occasionally fulfilling needs for line down situations as the business dictates
  • Communicate job plans to the Sustaining Supervisors, Engineers, Lead Technicians and/or Technicians prior to start of project, shutdown, or extended downtime work; or at management’s direction
  • Communicate and collaborate with Production Operations Team to optimize scheduling and ensure critical equipment needs (Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Work, Safety Updates, etc.) are accounted for in the build, and downtime-planning process
  • Manage Work Order backlogs, track work order aging, and communicate planned and ready backlogs to owning Supervisors and Techs. Run reports weekly as needed by management to understand status of aging items
  • Engage with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) teams, compliance officers, and management to enforce various key plant protocols such as: Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Fire Response, Hearing Conservation, Emergency Response, and Personal Protective Equipment training and practices
  • Serve as liaison between Equipment Maintenance, Production Ops and Engineering groups (Manufacturing, Process, Equipment, Maintenance)
  • Support other lifecycle management projects, technical writing or other as needed by management as business needs change
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering, Technology, Business Analytics preferred, or a related vocational program, and/or equivalent in industrial work experience. Prior military, fleet, or flight line experience is encouraged to apply
