Maintenance Planner

Job Description
We are looking for a Maintenance Planner (1st shift) for our plant in Carlisle, PA. This individual will improve maintenance work force efficiency and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance resources, parts, materials, and equipment access.
Compensation:
Starting of $36.96 per hour
$3,000.00 Sign on Bonus
Schedule:
1st Shift: M - F, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for initial screening of incoming work requests, identification of scope, and analysis of required level of planning. Conduct field walk downs to identify and document job requirements.
• Be the principal contact and liaison between the Maintenance and Production departments to coordinate job priority, ensure work request accuracy, verify work requested is needed, etc.
• Plan jobs with appropriate level of detail for the skilled trades workforce:


• Estimate hours required and trades necessary to perform the job.
• Research and identify parts needed.
• Identify any special tools required.
• Supply technical documents, specifications, and drawings as needed.
• Develop work procedures (SOPs) for the job including Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, hot work permits, and any special QA/QC requirements to be followed.


• Work with Parts Controller for parts ordering and/or job kitting.
• Work in conjunction with the Maintenance Scheduler to coordinate jobs ready to schedule.
• Upon completion of jobs, follow up with skilled trades regarding ideas and procedures to make future jobs more efficient.
• Work to keep bill of materials current for all Plant equipment in SAP including spare/repair parts.
• Maintain a (2) week ready backlog of work at all times.
• Coordinate the planning of work to be done for the annual maintenance shutdown between Christmas and New Year's.
• Coordinate the planning of holiday/outage work throughout the year with the maintenance support staff and engineers.
• Communicate with contractor resources directly on specific Work Orders assigned and the performance expectations of the Work Order. Lead this work as required/needed.
• Work with the maintenance support staff and/or Crew Leaders to lead contractor work on weekends and holidays/outages.
• Compile and deliver reports from CMMS (SAP) regarding the work execution for the reporting of metrics.
• Work with the maintenance support staff to keep the information storage areas (Archive room electronic files, including the CMMS) organized and up to date.
• Cover Maintenance Scheduler duties on an as-needed basis.

Requirements
Education:

• Completion of accredited vocational training and/or recognized apprenticeship in the Multicraft or Electrical trades.
• Required to maintain/improve skills by attending company-sponsored training sessions, on or off site, as assigned. May require deviation from typical hours worked and/or travel.

Experience:

• Multicraft or Electrician with 8+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Preferred: Maintenance planning or scheduling experience
