Maintenance Mechanic – Entry Level
General Summary:
Performs various preventative maintenance functions including basic machine repairs, changing filters, maintaining maintenance work order/purchasing systems and documenting compliance data on support equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Maintains plant equipment and facility, including: routine carpentry, painting, piping, heating and lighting, humidity and dust collection, yard work and snow removal as required.
2. Performs machine and equipment diagnostics and preventative maintenance.
3. Relocates machinery and equipment working from written instructions, blueprints and/or verbal instructions.
4. Performs machine maintenance including the greasing and oiling of machines and equipment according to established maintenance schedules and/or procedures.
5. Performs machine and light electrical repairs.
6. Must have proficient computer skills including Word, Outlook and Excel
7. Create work orders, including appropriate P.M. paperwork.
8. Operates maintenance equipment, including material handling equipment and manlifts.
9. Ensures and oversees that repairs are complete and equipment is in safe operating condition.
10. Maintains the cleanliness of equipment, department, plant and worksite.
11. Completes all appropriate paperwork.
12. Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with supplies/engineers to discuss issues, troubleshoot, and expedite plant/equipment repairs.
13. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Abilities Required
Physical ability to climb ladders or machinery, stoop, crouch, twist, kneel, crawl and walk to access the repair area while carrying or moving tools and repair parts; including overhead and floor to waist lifting of materials.
Knowledge and Experience Required
1. High school education or equivalent required.
2. Four to eight years of maintenance related experience in the crafts and skills of the maintenance position.
3. Strong mechanical aptitude
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions
1. Frequent exposure to dust, grease and oil, fumes and noise. Occasional exposure to solvents, heat and cold, and high places.
2. Must remain alert to avoid potential injury to self and others.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
