PNB has a Maintenance Mechanic position available at our Oregon plant. This is a skilled position responsible for repairing and installing production/manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties, per manufacturer's specifications. Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments, as needed. This individual must be reliable, a self-starter, highly driven, and willing to learn. Someone who sees opportunities, not barriers and is able to think outside the box. This individual will also act as a representative of PNB while managing outside relationships with vendors and contractors. Applicant must be flexible and willing to work all shifts and overtime as necessary.
Primary Job Accountabilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on assigned line
- Repair all production equipment as needed which includes welding, electrical, low level fabrication, design, and modifications.
- Upgrade areas with new equipment/technology; work with outside contractors working on assigned line
- Change line for package changeovers
- Welding and electrical
Job Eligibility Criteria:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 18 years or older, 21 years or older if CDL Required
- 5+ years maintenance experience desired, preferably in high speed production or food manufacturing or college degree in lieu of experience.
- Strong communication skills; ability to use Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Ability to clearly communicate with teams, co-workers, and management. Video conferencing and meeting experience is a plus.
- Must exercise strong customer service skills that is approachable, willing to support and demonstrates an overall positive attitude.
- Must have a positive approach to learning and receiving feedback.
- Able to manage projects independently and within a team while staying on task, meeting timelines and communicating progress.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns. For example, pinpointing and repairing problems associated with high speed manufacturing line breakdowns.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems required. For example, understanding high-pressure cylinders, pumps, or valves and reading schematics and using for troubleshooting in high-speed manufacturing.
- Experience working with pneumatics required. For example, working with solenoids, cylinders, or motor brakes and reading schematics and using for troubleshooting in high-speed manufacturing.
- Experience working with electrical systems required. For example, working with high voltage, installation, frequency drive experience, motor testing, troubleshooting, or panels in high-speed manufacturing.
- Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers – PLC programming required such as conveyer speeds, machine timing, flow meter calibration/ flow rates, and repairing displays.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance required. For example, conducting computerized preventative maintenance check-ups or reading SPC charts and data.
- Experience with line manufacturing support systems such as, ozone generation, line/lube delivery, chemical delivery, ingredient delivery, PH.
- Experience with conveyors and airveyors such as, air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed control/VFDs.
- Experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment team-oriented, deadline driven, high performance demands, and fast paced preferred.
- Must be able to continually work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 80 pounds, climb, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend and kneel continually over a 10-12 hour period.
- Must pass the pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Must pass the validated Selection Test.
