Maintenance Mechanic Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled maintenance mechanic to install, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment. The maintenance mechanic's responsibilities include performing regular inspections of machinery and equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance, and fulfilling other duties such as building maintenance as assigned.
To be a successful maintenance mechanic you should have a practical mind, mechanical aptitude, and strong attention to detail. Ultimately, a top-notch maintenance mechanic should be able to ensure that machinery and equipment are in excellent operating condition.
Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities:
- Wears appropriate personal protective safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures according to OSHA standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Have basic knowledge of all building systems which include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building automation controls.
- Installation and of light bulbs and ballasts.
- Installation and repairs to electrical systems, equipment, devices, and circuits.
- May be required at times to perform other trades work.
- Attends to tenant and building service request including picture hanging, light bulb replacement and other regular requests.
- Participates in staff meetings as required. Participates in customer visits if needed.
- Individual is required to perform many details themselves and to rely on a variety of internal and external resources to manage the workload.
- Strong people skills in terms of cooperation, teamwork, self-motivation, self-learning and respect for others.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment.
- Must have the ability to perform weekend duty responsibilities and respond to the building under certain circumstances. Overtime will be required for certain situations.
- Shift changes may be necessary to meet the needs of the client.
Maintenance Mechanic Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working in a team environment and professional communication with all levels of the organization.
- Proven skills in the use of standard maintenance shop equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, carry equipment and be on your feet for duration of shift
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining exceptional job performance.
- Willingness to be flexible in: assignments, priorities, shifts/depending on projects and production needs and weekend coverage.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents; write routine reports and correspondence; and common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or diagram form.
- Previous experience, trade school, and satisfactory knowledge in electrical systems.
