Job Description
The Maintenance Manager will oversee daily management of maintenance staff, ongoing preventive maintenance and scheduled and emergency repair tasks as well as manage on-hand inventory of parts, supplies and purchase/replenish as needed with attention to best utilization of budget allotted amount. This position requires a hands on approach to all projects and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Candidate must posses the ability to stay focused and on task in fast paced environment as well as plan and prepare projects to ensure best and timely results. A keen eye towards potential structural issues, waste of resources, inefficiencies and cost cutting measures is required.
- Work within the computerized maintenance program to assign and supervise all work being handed out and completed.
- Recruit, supervise and train maintenance technicians.
- Daily/Weekly planning and management of all maintenance projects within greenhouse, office, fields and on property structures.
- Attend to all alarms related to fire, heating, cooling and conveyor belts.
- Work directly with township officials, (Fire Marshal, Building Inspector) as needed
- Manage work schedule for all members of maintenance to ensure best coverage, including utilization of night-watchman to inspect/adjust/report on all concerns on off-hours. Manage on-call schedule in case of emergency situations
- Work with outside vendors to complete contracted work.
- Participate in coordination of projects (e.g., renovations and new construction.)
- Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
- Purchasing of parts, materials and equipment for Maintenance department. Follow established approval process.
Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of general maintenance mechanic duties.
- 3-5 years experience as facility/Maintenance Manager
- Ability to lead projects and supervise up to 20 mechanics
- Knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and air systems, other systems, and their components
- Extensive experience with HVAC, PVC pipes and general plumbing
- Basic understanding of electrical circuits.
- Results driven and with attention to details
- Knowledgeable of OSHA safety regulations, with ability to create safe work environment for entire staff.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus, not a requirement
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Above average computer skills. (Excel, Word, Outlook, Damatex, and others.)
- Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.
