Assist the Chief Engineer in all inspections and repairs of various systems, such as the heating and cooling systems, plumbing, lighting, and kitchen equipment. You also assist with painting, repairing floors, roofs, and doors and installing new products, such as windows, carpets, and light fixtures.
What will you do on a regular day?
- Greet guests courteously and enthusiastically.
- Maintain the building and grounds, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
- Replace air conditioner filters and lightbulbs.
- Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
- Clean debris from sidewalk.
- Perform equipment preventative maintenance as outlined in the Master Care program.
- Perform work as requested by housekeeping and front desk as outlined in the Maintenance Request forms.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the property manager.
- Personally respond to all maintenance emergencies, 24 hours a day.
- Maintain records outlining all maintenance work and preventative maintenance programs.
- Conduct inventory of supplies and prepare reports concerning supplies needed by maintenance.

This job requires continuous movement, regularly bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, and moving up to 25 pounds. You may also be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. You must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions.
This job is open to applicants who have a one-year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. You need basic English communication skills, both written and verbal.
