Abundant Christian Living Community - Independent Living is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to assist in maintaining well-functioning building, grounds and equipment in compliance with current federal, state and local requirements. Our facility provides outstanding care and services with a dedicated staff of compassionate individuals whose goal is to serve the residents.
Qualifications:
- Follow written and oral directions and work independently.
- Sincere desire to work with elders and others who have a limited capacity for self-care.
- Mental and physical capacity to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Demonstrate creative initiative and mature judgment in making competent decisions.
- Consistently maintain courteous, empathetic, and professional attitude.
- Some experience or training in use of maintenance tools, plumbing, mechanics, carpentry and electrical work.
- Communicate and comprehend orally and in writing to effectively receive and share information as necessary to perform job duties.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assure Resident safety at all times.
- Assist in maintenance of plant, grounds and equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Adapt work assignments to prioritize and incorporate unscheduled maintenance needs.
- Assist with maintaining comfortable temperatures in Resident areas.
- Assist in maintaining accurate work records.
- Assist in assessing supply and maintenance needs in order to make timely recommendations to supervisor.
- Follow standardized work methods and departmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure safe and comfortable environment for Residents and staff.
- Assist with routine inspections and testing of fire alarm system.
- Maintain well-functioning exit alarms and emergency call alarms
- Assist in maintaining equipment and furniture used by the Residents.
- Perform ongoing minor repairs and maintenance to maintain a pleasant and safe internal environment and neat appearance of outside grounds.
