As a Mainframe Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Banking, Card Platform Product tea, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver data collection, storage, access, and analytics solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for maintaining critical data pipelines and architectures across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Generates data models for their team using firmwide tooling, linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms
- Administer, design, implementation and support highly available and scalable Mainframe DB2 database solutions
- Implement and maintain the DB2 IMS Databases with High Availability features using Data Partitioning and Database replications
- Delivers data collection, storage, access, and analytics data platform solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way
- Implements database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy
- Evaluates and reports on access control processes to determine effectiveness of data asset security with minimal supervision
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on Mainframe DBA concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Mainframe DBA: Overall experience with an emphasis on Database Administration/Engineering
- Knowledge of DB2 /IMS, IBM Replication CDC, QREP
- Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes
- Strong skills in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning/backup and recovery procedures
- Utilize database admin tools like CA Platinum/ BMC/ IBM Admin tools, Mainview, IBM Data Studio, BMC Recovery management etc.
- Working experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience and proficiency across the data lifecycle
- Experience with database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy
- Proficient knowledge of linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Hands on skills with REXX and MQ
- Mainframe engineering
