This position is required to ensure all assigned patients assigned to the Forensic and Civil Hospitals are able to receive packages and mail from the public ensuring no contraband/unapproved items enter the facility. This position is responsible in tracking all incoming and outgoing mail/packages protecting the Hospital from liable claims.-This position shall sort and collate all incoming and outgoing mail following established processes outlined by the United States Postal Service. This position will issue patient packages, mail, conduct Courier duties as required and ensure all incoming/outgoing mail is tracked and recorded for accountability.    

Skills Required    -Organization -Time management – Assisting in patient interventions in any way possible to show support to staff - Maintain interpersonal relationships with patients/residents, staff, and other law enforcement personnel and visitors - Interpret and apply policies and procedures - Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing - Perform physical duties such as lifting and carrying - Support a diverse multi-cultural workforce that reflects the community, promotes equal opportunity at all levels of public employment, and creates an inclusive work environment that enables all individuals to perform to their fullest potential free from discrimination - Receiving, transmitting, and carrying out written or verbal directives - Effective verbal de-escalation techniques and language    
Skills Preferred        

Experience Required
Possess at least one years of progressive responsibility in a Mailroom setting, preferably in a mental health care facility or in a hospital/institution, or a prison/jail.         

Experience Preferred
Driving is required for State Business.
Requires a valid Arizona Driver’s license and the ability to drive 
A State Hospital employee must be able to obtain a valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card pursuant to A.R.S. § 41-1758.07. 
Employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (See Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11).    
Education Preferred        

Additional Information    Day shift 0600-1400 Five-8 hour days. Mon-Fri, weekends and holidays off. Position is contract to hire for 4 months. After 4 months, candidate may transition to State Employee. Work location address is 501 N. 24th St. Phoenix, AZ 85008
