About River Edge Behavioral Health
Serving more than 10,000 Georgians, River Edge continues to be one of the state's leading resources for mental health, substance use disorder treatments and supports as well as individuals with intellectual and development disabilities. River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.
River Edge is currently seeking a Certified Recovery Support Coach for Macon Recovers. As a Certified Recovery Support Coach, you will play a pivotal role in assisting individuals on their journey to recovery from addiction. Your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance, encouragement, and support to clients as they navigate the challenges of recovery.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support to peers served.
  • Engage individuals and families in recovery activities that promote independence.
  • Be willing to publicly self-identify as being in recovery from a substance use disorder or addiction diagnosis and share your own story of recovery as inspiration to others.
  • Link individuals and families to community resources that promote recovery.
  • Facilitate and participate in recovery community support groups.
  • Respond as needed to referrals from community stakeholders.
  • Facilitate a community-based peer support group.
  • Participate in staff, community, and program meetings.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision.
  • Complete reports by deadlines given by the supervisor.
  • Track peers served and direct services.
  • Ensure the timesheet is completed and submitted by the deadline.
  • Maintain appropriate professional and personal boundaries and be a positive, healthy role model for peers.
  • Promote racial and cultural sensitivity.
  • Exhibit strong customer service ethics.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/ GED equivalent.
  • Must have at least 2 years abstinent recovery from a substance use disorder and is willing to share details of his or her personal recovery experience.
  • Active Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) certification preferred.
  • CPS-AD certification indicating passing grade on CARES Exam preferred.
  • All applicants must pass a satisfactory background clearance and pre-employment drug test.
  • *Applicants without CARES/CPS-AD credentials will be considered, but must attain credentials within first year of hire

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least two (2) years' experience working in the behavioral health field and CARES (Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist) Certified.
