Recovery Place is a substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment facility providing group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, relapse prevention, medication management, aftercare, and 12-step recovery programs. For over three decades, we have provided the treatment that clients need to overcome their substance abuse and behavioral health disorders regardless of their financial status through both residential and outpatient services.
Currently we are seeking Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist you will be helping others by providing support services to engage individuals in the recovery process and reduce the likelihood of relapse as part of a multi-disciplianry team for persons with substance use disorders. Duties include: utilizing peer mentoring/coaching skills to assist individuals with a substance use disorder in locating recovery support services which include mutual support groups, helping individuals manage crises, plan and/or identify alcohol and drug free activities, educating family members, the public and policymakers about substance use disorders, and the recovery process.
Requirements for the position include: a passion for helping people, an intimate knowledge of the recovery process, knowledge of recovery resources such as 12 step programs and other community support groups, a minimum of 2 years in recovery from a substance or alcohol use disorder, C.A.R.E.S. eligible, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, social media, and the flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
