Machinist - 1St Shift

We are seeking a full-time, Machinist  to join our team in Westbrook, Maine. 

First shift: Monday - Friday,  5:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Machinist Responsibilities:

• Process raw materials into standard and custom components, including using cut-off saw, Knee Mill, Bed Mill, Lathe, Grinder, Belt Sander, Band Saw, CNC Machining Centers, and supporting tools and equipment.
• As they occur, report any issues encountered with running a job or machinery to supervisor or lead person
• Perform machining operations in the most timely and efficient manner possible for the machinery being utilized. Make the best use of spindle speeds and feed rates for efficient material removal and maintain expected tool life.
• Finishing and de-burring components
• Inspecting components as manufactured for conformance with appropriate drawings
• Modifying manufactured and/or purchased components as necessary in response to needs in the assembly area
• Perform all duties safely. Seek assistance as necessary and especially when moving heavy items.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
• Participate in the Company Idea System making continuous improvements as required.
• Other Responsibilities as Assigned

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Experience operating CNC and Manual Machine Tools like Knee Mills, Bed Mills and Lathes
• Machine tool training/general knowledge of machining
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) experience
