Elmet Technologies is seeking experienced CNC Machinists (including recent graduates).  This is a great opportunity!  Located in Lewiston, Maine!

Do you like helping machine and work with the most advanced, made-in-the USA parts for medical and defense products?  How about working with state of the art machinery and critical materials such as pure tungsten and molybdenum.   We are the largest US producer of tungsten and molybdenum which are unique metals with the highest melting points, used in highly technical application such as medical robots, rockets, aircraft and missiles.   We have a positive work environment and are committed to training and giving back to the local Lewiston - Auburn community.

Available Shifts:

1st shift: Monday – Friday, 7am – 3pm

2nd shift: Monday – Friday, 3pm – 11pm

Weekend Shift: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 5am – 5pm.  Work 36 hours, get paid for 40!

Shift differential: 10% for 2nd and 20% for 3rd.

Requirements of the CNC Machinist:

• Qualified position requires candidate to pass written test, as well of proof of competency tests which include demonstration of ability to produce actual parts in specific processes
• 2 years secondary school degree in machining technology, or a minimum of 3 years recent machine shop experience
• Strong Mechanical aptitude, and experience setting up production equipment for entry level CNC Machinist
• Knowledge and ability to perform basic math functions
• TIG Welding is a plus!
• Ability to use basic hand measuring tools
• Clear understanding of prints and drawings
• Basic computer proficiency
• Lifting and maneuver up to 50 pounds
• Ability to reach overhead, bend, twist, pull and stand, sit or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to commute to Lewiston, Maine every day of scheduled shift

Responsibilities of the Machinist:

• Verifies that starting materials and supplies are dimensionally correct.
• Sets up and operates equipment in conformance with specifications with no supervision.
• Learns to set up and operate new equipment
• Keeps work are neat and orderly
• Verifies that starting materials and supplies are dimensionally correct
• Performs in-process inspection of work using applicable measuring devices
• Assists others in set up and operation procedures
• TIG Welding is a plus!
• Performs other duties as required
