WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a warehouse cold and freezer setting and/or office setting with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers, forklift machines. This position may require working weekends and holidays, and starting at various start and end times that are required to successfully meet customers’ needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Able to stand for long periods of time. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; and stop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
POSITION TYPE
This is a full-time permanent position and reports to the General Manager.
SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
Lunch: One (1) hour
Breaks: Two (2) ten-minute breaks
- Must be flexible to overtime (as needed)
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays (as needed)
- If you are going to be tardy and/or absent it is your responsibility to contact your immediate supervisor before your scheduled start time. If you are absent two consecutive working days a doctor’s note is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conducts repairs, service, installations, removals of various machines.
- Preventative maintenance; checking belts, bearing, fluids, (In accordance with manufacturers recommendations).
- Reviewing equipment for any wear and tear and identifying part numbers for ordering.
- Performs equipment checking as assigned, inspect HVAC for proper working condition.
- Ensures that equipment is in good working order.
- Maintains spare parts inventory on equipment and communicates need for additional supplies.
- Testing and troubleshooting any emergencies or codes presented.
REQUIREMENTS
- Basic Knowledge and skills on electrical and mechanical work.
- Previous experience with refrigeration, electrical or HVAC is a plus.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule which includes a rotation schedule.
- Ability to raise, lower, climb and balance on ladders safely.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to learn job skills by following the instruction from the General Manager.
- Must have the ability to perform preventive maintenance.
SALARY
Starting salary of $24.00 - $27.00 per hour (Depending on experience)
SICK TIME
Eligible for 40 hours of sick pay the first of the month following 30 days.
VACATION (based on years of service)
1-2 years = 40 hours
3-9 years = 80 hours
10 years and over = 120 hours
